However, these ships are enormous in size, thus having a high visibility and being an easy target. Most of their high-tier ships also have a long-lasting, long-range Hydroacoustic Search, enabling them to dodge torpedoes and intercept destroyers. Their guns are surprisingly fast-firing, and they have powerful close-range weaponry - secondary guns for battleships and torpedoes for cruisers. The German Navy in general have some of the most durable ships in the game, that are capable of surviving in close-range combat. The Destroyer line was split in June 2021, and the second battleship line was released in October 2021. The Aircraft Carrier line was added in July 2020. The Battleship line was added in August 2016, and the Destroyer line was released in December 2016. Their actual tech tree, in form of a Cruiser line, was added in October 2015, just a month after release of the game. The German Kriegsmarine / Kaiserliche Marine is the fifth faction to be introduced into World of Warships, with their first ship being the tier VIII premium battleship Tirpitz.
